My name is Seth and I am currently a doctoral candidate in Syracuse University’s Composition and Cultural Rhetoric Doctoral Program. I am also a Teaching Assistant in the Women and Gender Studies Program and an artist at Paint with a Twist (Syracuse-Dewitt). I have created this site give the larger digital community an idea of who I am as a scholar and to chronicle some of my research. My research focus is on Black Queer Literacy, performance and stories of survival. Specifically, my current research focuses on reading, throwing shade and pulling trade as literacy practices that demonstrate the multiple way Black women and Queer people of color refashion static notions of literacy, gender and class to survive.
